Our Story
Mystic Estate – Helen Khom's lifelong work with poodles.
Mystic Estate began in Deltona, Florida with Helen Khom, an award-winning groomer whose day-to-day life revolves around grooming, coat care, and poodle temperament. What started as GroomLand, her home-based grooming studio, naturally expanded into raising miniature poodles with the same devotion to detail.
From groomer to breeder
Years of compassionate grooming taught Helen how structure, routine, and coat care shape a dog's confidence. Her love of poodles—their intelligence, expression, and velvet-soft coats—led her to develop the Mystic Estate breeding program. She still grooms daily at GroomLand, keeping her connected to every nuance of the breed.
Professional experience & achievements
Helen is an active voice in the grooming community and continues to mentor other professionals. Highlights include:
- Over five years of full-time grooming experience working with countless coat types.
- Active grooming competitor since 2019 with consistent placements.
- 6th place finisher at SuperZoo 2021.
- Barkleigh Honors “Up and Coming Groomer of the Year” in 2021.
- 1st place winner of the 2023 Clipper Classic.
- Instructor for The Groom Haüs, teaching clipper techniques and pet trims.
Creating Mystic Estate – poodles with a purpose
As Helen's presence grew in the dog-show and purebred communities, Mystic Estate took shape. The program is officially recognized in the American Kennel Club records as “MYSTIC ESTATE – Poodles – Helen Khom.”Breeding here means pairing sound structure, stable temperaments, and transparent health testing with the polish of a professional grooming background.
Life at Mystic Estate
Puppies grow up in a lived-in home, not a kennel. They become comfortable with people, grooming tools, and everyday noises long before they meet their new families.
- Puppies are whelped and raised inside the home so everyday sights, sounds, and routines feel familiar.
- Grooming starts early with gentle sessions that build confidence on the table.
- Families receive coaching on coat care, nail maintenance, nutrition, and enrichment.
- Helen stays in touch, cheering on alumni and offering support long after gotcha day.
